Bublr Bikes is Milwaukee’s bike share system, offering an easy and affordable (and super fun!) way to get around town. Bottlewood Communications was retained to perform community outreach to residents and stakeholders in low-income neighborhoods to gather opinions and feedback about bike sharing in general and promote Bublr Bikes. Information obtained is being used to shape Bublr Bike’s equity program and its goal of ensuring a bike share system that is accessible to all Milwaukeeans.

Fondy Food Center

Services Provided: Community Relations, Marketing Communications and Editorial, Fund Development and Grant Writing

Fondy Food Center is a local nonprofit based on Milwaukee’s north side that connects Greater Milwaukee to local, fresh food through two programs: Fondy Farmers Market (2200 W. Fond du Lac Ave., Milwaukee) and Fondy Farm (Port Washington). Bottlewood Communications founder Nancy Ketchman served as Director of Development and Communications for Fondy Food Center. She raised awareness and funds for Fondy’s programs through grant writing and fundraising events, market and special event sponsorships, promotional materials (posters, postcards, etc.), social media and e-newsletters, and coordinating volunteer activities and events with local businesses and schools, such as Capital Stampings Corp., MillerCoors, Leinenkugel Brewery, and Marquette University

Services Provided: Marketing Communications and Editorial

U.S. Counseling Services, Inc. was a national medical equipment maintenance management company based in Brookfield, WI. (The company was subsequently sold to Thermo Fisher Scientific.) Bottlewood founder Nancy Ketchman served as Marketing Manager and was responsible for all marketing materials (brochures, case studies, client reports, trade articles, advertisements, etc.), annual budgeting, and supervision of marketing support staff.

KVG Building Corp. is a Milwaukee-based company that provides design/build services for commercial real estate. Bottlewood Communications wrote a series of marketing pieces highlighting different areas of expertise (e.g. ground-up construction, restaurants, tenant improvements, exterior renovations, and industrial facilities) and assisted in website content development.

The Electrical Generating Systems Association (EGSA) is the world’s largest organization exclusively dedicated to on-site power generation. Bottlewood Communications edited and provided art direction for EGSA’s recently published, 47-chapter book: On-Site Power Generation: A Comprehensive Guide to On-Site Power.

Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers

Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers (SSCHC) is a federally qualified community health center that provides a range of direct healthcare and supportive services to an underserved, immigrant community in two locations: on Milwaukee’s south side and in downtown Waukesha. Bottlewood Communications supports SSCHC’s Department of Environmental Health by providing grant writing and fund development assistance to support the department’s sustainable development initiatives.
